Goethe-Institute is an organization, funded by the German government and promotes German language learning and cultural exchange abroad. Learners can take examinations at any Goethe centers, or with one of the institute’s partners. The Goethe-Institute certificate (Zertifikat) is recognized worldwide as a German language certification, and can be used in Germany for visa, residence permit and citizenship applications, as well as for university entrance requirements. It consists in 4 sections; reading, listening, writing and speaking. Based on the total result points it is granted based on the level of German language from A1 to C2.

TestDaf (Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache) is a German language certification for non-native German speakers, specifically aimed at those who would like to study at, or work in, German universities. TestDaf is available in 95 different countries worldwide and is granted levels from B2 to C2. It consists in 4 sections; reading, listening, writing and speaking. Based on the total result points it evaluates the level of German language.
